This Privacy Policy explains how **GNC srl** (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the **Equa** mobile application (“Equa”, “the app”).

We have designed Equa to work without collecting your personal data. This policy describes what that means in practice, what permissions the app requests on your device, and what rights you have.

## Summary

– We do **not** collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers.

– We do **not** use analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or third-party trackers.

– All app data — your devices, schedules, calibration values, and statistics — stays **on your phone**.

– Equa communicates only **locally**, over Bluetooth Low Energy, with your dosing pumps.

– There are **no accounts**, no sign-in, and no cloud sync.

If at any point we change this, we will update this policy and the “Last updated” date above, and notify you in the app where required by law.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, because we do not collect or process personal data through the app, we do not act as a data controller in respect of app usage. If you contact us directly (for example by email), we act as the controller for that correspondence — see “If you contact us” below.

## Data stored on your device

Equa stores the following information locally on your phone, using the operating system’s standard storage mechanisms (Capacitor Preferences on iOS Keychain / Android encrypted preferences):

– Devices you have paired (name, label, color, tube type, tank capacity, motor speed, calibration value).

– Schedules you have created (name, dose amount, number of doses, active days, time windows).

– Dosing statistics derived from your schedules.

– App preferences (language, units, notification settings).

This information never leaves your device through Equa. If you uninstall the app, this data is removed by your operating system according to its normal rules.

You can clear this data at any time by removing a device, deleting a schedule, or uninstalling Equa.

## Bluetooth and on-device communication

Equa connects to your pumps using **Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)**. This is a direct, local radio link between your phone and the pump. No data is sent through our servers, and we have no way to see or store anything that is exchanged on that link.

When you scan for or connect to a pump, the following permissions are used:

– **Bluetooth** (iOS and Android) — required to discover and communicate with pumps.

– **Location** (Android only, on older Android versions) — required by Android itself for BLE scanning. We do **not** read, store, or transmit your location. Where the operating system allows it, Equa requests the “Bluetooth-only” permission instead.

Equa does not run background scans and does not collect device identifiers from anything other than the pump you choose to pair with.

## Firmware updates

When you update a pump’s firmware, Equa lets you pick a `.bin` file using your phone’s built-in file picker. The file picker is provided by your operating system (iOS Files / Android Storage Access Framework), and the file you choose may come from local storage or a cloud provider you have already connected (for example iCloud, Google Drive). Equa receives only the file you select; it does not access other files and does not transmit the file to us.

The firmware file is sent directly to the pump over Wi-Fi during the update, on your local network. We do not host firmware files, intercept the transfer, or record update activity.

## Children

Equa is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

## If you contact us

If you email us at info@gncitalia.it (for example to ask for support or report a bug), we will process your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to you. We rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests) — specifically, our interest in providing support to users of our app.

We keep support correspondence only for as long as needed to handle your request and any reasonable follow-up, and then delete it.

We do not use your email address for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties except where required by law or where strictly necessary to provide a response (for example, our email hosting provider).

## Your rights (EU / UK / EEA)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, and to the extent we process personal data about you (which, in practice, is limited to support correspondence — see above), you have the right to:

– access the personal data we hold about you;

– request correction of inaccurate data;

– request erasure of your data;

– object to or restrict processing;

– data portability;

– withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;

– lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The lead authority for GNC srl is the data protection authority of Perugia, Italy; you may also complain to the authority in the country where you live.

## International transfers

Because Equa does not transmit your data off your device, no international transfer of personal data takes place through the app itself. If you email us, your message is handled by our email provider.

## Security

Equa relies on the security mechanisms of your operating system to protect the data it stores locally. Bluetooth communication uses the security features built into BLE. As with any software, no system is perfectly secure; please keep your operating system and Equa up to date.

## Changes to this policy

If we materially change how Equa handles data — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud sync or analytics — we will update this policy, change the “Last updated” date, and clearly inform users in the app before any new processing begins. Material changes affecting users in the EU/UK will, where required, ask for your consent before taking effect.
